Safeguarding

Hockliffe Lower School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and Hockliffe Lower School is committed to ensuring that all children and young people are safe and feel safe. We want children and parents to feel and know that they can talk about any safeguarding concerns and feel assured that they will be listened to.

All staff and volunteers receive training on safeguarding procedures and guidance, including what to do if they suspect a child or young person may be experiencing, or be at risk of, harm.

Under the Children Act 1989 the School has a duty to keep all children safe and to protect them from harm.

Safeguarding and Child Protection concerns should be raised with Mrs Greaves, via the school office.

All child protection issues will be treated by the school as confidential.

If you are concerned about a child, please approach the school or contact the Central Bedfordshire Access and Inclusion Team on 0300 300 8585, or out of hours on 0300 300 8123.

If you have a concern about any adult who works directly with children, please contact the Central Bedfordshire Local Area Designated Officer (LADO) on 0300 300 8142.
