Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Hockliffe Lower School

On behalf of our children, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to Hockliffe Lower School.

Our school is special and unique. Getting to know all of our children and their families individually is definitely at the forefront of the work of our dedicated team at Hockliffe. We are a child centred school, which offers a warm and friendly environment for all.

Hockliffe Lower School is a small, friendly village school, set in the attractive Bedfordshire countryside. The beauty of the school grounds provides a wide range of outdoor areas, which are a source of inspiration for our children’s learning. We have a trained Forest School teacher, so that all of our children have the opportunity each year to extend their learning in a dedicated outdoor space.

All members of Hockliffe’s school community demonstrate life’s positive values and promote a caring family ethos in the school. They work together to establish a happy, safe and stimulating learning environment, in which pupils can grow and develop as confident individuals and respectful members of the global society.

The school’s broad and balanced curriculum aims to give our children the tools they require to make successful learning and life choices. Staff provide children with an exciting and interesting curriculum, which challenges them to achieve their full potential and develop a lifelong enthusiasm for learning.

We are an inclusive school; we value, nurture and support each and every child. Some pupils need additional support or challenges to achieve and succeed - in understanding that, equality does not mean treating every child in the same way. We personalise our approach for children who have a special educational need and/or disabilities.

Our website contains a wealth of information, which we hope will give you an understanding of our wonderful school and its community. If you would like to see our school in ‘real life’ it would be a pleasure to show you around. Please contact the school office or e-mail to arrange a visit.
